Get me off this peninsula (island).
I mean, the place wasn’t too bad.

But, the food was just snacks, and the room was the bare minimum to qualify as a hotel room. And, of course, everything was 10x more expensive than South Africa and Namibia.

I know it’s spring, but when you’re the only guest, you would think they would go the extra mile.

I had to request a kettle, but there were no glasses in the room, I used my trusty Sha-Sha water bottle!
Heading Back to the Mainland

At least some birds got to enjoy the pool. I was in such a hurry to grad the boat I forgot my trunks.
I headed to the maritime terminal to get my ticket printed for the ferry from Soyo to Cabinda. Got my boots cleaned before I headed in since they were covered in sand.

All good! Still don’t know about bringing my motorcycle onboard because all anyone would tell me was “it’s extra” and “just check your ticket”, huh?
Well, the ferry only goes on Wednesday and Fridays and today was Monday, so I had to find a place to stay. The guy who originally switched places on me told me he would agree to my discount, so ok, let’s give him a shot.
Oldtown Apartment

Washing machine!!! And a giant bedroom, for $40. Right in my budget.
The building was old, the guy told me it was vacant for a long time after the Portuguese abandoned Angola.
The view was not great.

National Museum of Slavery

Humans are so creative in their cruelty. Whites really turned the world upside down and have yet to fully understand what that legacy has perpetuated. I can’t say how it made me feel, other than hollow.
Prepare for Departure
I decided to do some maintenance on my bike since I noticed when I was leaving the museum there was some fluid leaking from my left fork. Great.
Put my bike on the full stand and cleaned the chain….
I had to move my bike out of the lot because the security guard said there was no way he’d be up by 5am to open it up. I just parked it out front.

Hopefully it, and all my stuff, will be there in the morning.
Good night!
