Hey, What About the Vaccines?

Shots Anyone?

You absolutely cannot be squeamish about getting poked if you want to travel the entire western coast of the African continent. The amazing Keyshalis at Passport Health worked through my entire list of countries – yes, each one – telling (scaring) me about the various viruses going around and what I would need to be able to even enter some countries.

The total list was 11, including some I already had from my last trip, and the malaria pills. This was the first round (one was actually missing from this picture)…

Then, a second trip back to Keyshalis to get the Cholera live virus with a couple of side shots (yes, that’s her idea of a joke, the “Cholera Cola”):

I don’t remember all of them, but here’s the picture of my vaccine card from the shots.. Yellow fever was from before and chikungunya and flu added later.

Entering the Malaria Zone

Time to start popping pills as I head to Namibia.

The regimen is pretty basic. Start today and finish in Europe somewhere, probably Germany.
