Cape Agulhas – Arrival

Southernmost Point on the African Continent

Made it in around 3:30, about an hour faster than I had planned – even with the stop! Most of that is just the ability to overtake through the hills as cars get backed up behind trucks.

Checked in to my accommodations, another great place for $27!

Decided to move my gear in and head to the marker.

Tale of Two Oceans

And dip my feet in the Indian and Atlantic mix!

it looks calm, but the wind was strong and so were the waves right behind those rocks. This is when you need a wingman. My phone only has a 10 second timer and the floor there was slippery and steep!

Time to Eat

I walked down the main street to a small Italian place – Gavin’s Trattoria, in case you end up there one day. The service and food were excellent.

Caprese salad anyone?

Peri-peri chicken livers, yeah that’s an appetizer!

Wood-fired Western Cape sole. Absolutely delicious. Better make the most of this part of the world!

I went back to the guesthouse, tried to grab some night sky shots, but there was too much light pollution.

Oh well. At least with the sounds of the ocean I should be able to get some sleep.
