Gqberha nee Port Elizabeth – Arrival

Battery, battery, battery.

Arrived in PE around 4, got gas and headed to my guesthouse. The place was huge! Not bad for $31.

It also had a nice quiet bedroom.

The weather was rather windy and I didn’t have time to research the battery places, but I figured I could ask around in the morning given that there was no BMW service center around. Why are motorcycle batteries so hard to find?

Called the family and decided to do a little work It was a Sunday after all….

Dinner with Ryan and His Father

Ryan was due in around 6PM and we decided to grab some food.

Ya know, South Africa can make a decent burger, but it’s still not the same as the US. I think the meat used in most places is just too lean. Without the fat, there’s not the same mouthfeel or salt activation that truly allows your mouth to enjoy the beef.

Ryan’s dad joined us for dinner. Turns out he’s a recent adventure rider! Got himself a mint Triumph Tiger 900 fully loaded for a steal – well, now here’s someone who can help me find a motorcycle battery!

I got back and did some work, downloaded some media, and managed to wipe all the helmet footage from the ride. Good thing the trip hadn’t started yet, rght?
